Copies of any and all records, or part of records, relating to a community leader in Driefontein in the period to 2 April 1983 under the Wakkerstroom Magisterial District near Pier Retief, Mpumulunga, relating to the late MrSaul Mkhize (also known as Solly Mkhize), including but not limited to:

1. Police or security surveillance records relating to Mr Saul Mkhize’s role as a community
leader opposing forced removals from land in Driefontein (including but not limited to his role as Chairperson
of Driefontein Council Board of Direction and his role as the husband of Mrs Beauty Mkhize, Chairperson of rural women’s movement);

2. Inquest relating to the shooting and killing of Mr Saul Mkhize on 2 April 1983 at a rally against forced
removals in Driefontein (including but not limited to evidence, witness statements, transcripts of hearings and
any internal briefing documents);

3. Court hearings relating to the acquittal of Constable AJ Nienaber for the shooting and killing of Mr Saul
Mkhize on 2 April 1983 at a rally against forced removals in Driefontein (including but not limited to
evidence, witness statements, transcripts of hearings and any internal briefing documents).
