Request in respect of the current and proposed water uses at the Vuna Colliery

In respect of the current and proposed water uses at the Vuna Colliery, situated on portion 5 and a portion of the remaining extent of portion 2 of the Farm Zonnebloem 396 JS, Middelburg, Mpumalanga Province, including the Vuna Colliery North Block project area, which activities are undertaken by Vuna Mining Enterprises (Pty) Ltd and/or any subsidiary or holding company of the aforementioned and/or any other entity associated with the Vuna Colliery, including the North Block project area:
a. Copies of records of any request for security by a responsible authority in accordance with section 30 of the National Water Act 36 of 1998 (NWA) for any obligation or potential obligation arising from any licence issued in terms of the NWA as well as the type, extent and duration of the security required;
b. Copies of records of any security provided by Vuna Mining Enterprises (Pty) Ltd and/or any subsidiary or holding company of the aforementioned and/or any other entity associated with the Vuna Colliery to the Department of Water Affairs in accordance with section 30 of the NWA, including but not limited to a letter of credit from a bank; a surety or a bank guarantee; a bond; or an insurance policy; or any other appropriate form of security, as well as a description of the extent and duration of the security provided;
c. Copies of records of any applications to the responsible authority to have any security given by that person in terms of section 30 of the NWA amended or discharged;
d. Copies of any water monitoring reports submitted to the Department of Water Affairs for the period 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013;
e. A copy of any map and/or list indicating where water monitoring is taking place;
f. Copies of any reports of inspections carried out in terms of section 125(3)(a), (b) and (c) for the period 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013;
g. Copies of any application for the amendment of a water use licence to reflect a successor in title as a new licensee or to change the description of the property to which the licence applies in terms of section 50 of the NWA; and
h. Copies of any notice of cessation of activities as required in terms of the Water Use Licence and regulations 2(b) and 9 of GN 704.
